Growing up my mom was a school teacher, but in the summers she would work at retail stores to make extra money. We lived in the tourist town of Solvang in California where they have many gorgeous gift stores. One summer my mom worked at a store called “Apron Strings”. When I was bored at home I’d ride my bike to say “hi”to her while she worked. This store might have just been the beginning of my love of all things home decor. They had beautiful displays, and my favorite displays always included ones that had MacKenzie-Child pieces. I remember back then just being amazed by the fantastical patterning of the pieces and the gorgeous pops of color they utilized.

Now as an adult it is so fun to have some MacKenzie-Child pieces of my own to enjoy, especially around the holidays.

We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year early, so my Grace and I decided to set a table in preparation. I think Grace and actually Cora too may be decorators in training, they love to putz with decor just as much as I do!

She helped me place all these gorgeous beaded napkin holders http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/precious-metals-napkin-ring/72654-009.html on all the napkins.

I love the napkins, the napkin holders and the beaded chargers http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/precious-metals-plate-and-charger/35509-031.html because I can use them both for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Normally I’m a neutral loving girl but for tablescapes I love over the top, and lots of color!

The “Autumn Sunset Nosegay” is just that perfect color scheme to add the “wow” factor to our creation. http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/autumn-sunset-nosegay/34764-013.html and MacKenzie-Childs’s black and white classic patterning is just the perfect touch to help me step outside of my neutral box!

We added faux pears and faux pumpkins to add some more color and I can’t wait to see this played filled with food. The yummy sweet potatoes and turkey will be so perfectly suited for all these fall colors found on our tablescape.

Ziggy was pretty excited about our tablescape too!

Now that I have the table all designed for our family’s get together, I just need to find a truly good gluten free apple pie recipe? Any suggestions?

We had so much fun putting out table together, I hope you’ve enjoyed it. This was a sponsored post, but I sure do love MacKenzie-Child’s and all the above opinions are my own.

Happy early holidays to you and to yours!
